The Higher Education Commission (HEC), through its Education Testing Council (ETC), is conducting the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT) for students seeking admission in MS/M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs in Pakistani universities and for the award of HEC scholarships. The test is designed to evaluate candidates' verbal reasoning, analytical reasoning, and quantitative reasoning skills, ensuring their eligibility for advanced academic programs or scholarships.
Candidates can register for the HAT categories based on their educational disciplines and academic streams. There are five HAT categories: HAT-1, HAT-2, HAT-3, HAT-4, and HAT-General, catering to a wide range of disciplines like Engineering, Management Sciences, Arts, Agriculture, Biological Sciences, and Religious Studies. The HAT score is valid for two years and can also be used for future HEC scholarship opportunities.
The test will be held on Sunday, July 13, 2025, and the last date for online registration is Thursday, June 12, 2025. Students must register online through the HEC portal and pay the non-refundable test fee via the provided 1Link/IBill Invoice system. Roll number slips and test center details will be shared via email and SMS.
Applicants must score at least 50 out of 100 to qualify, and the test will be conducted at designated centers across Pakistan. The registration process requires accurate personal details, CNIC/passport information, and a valid email address for correspondence.
